Rebecca waves a hand negligently and shakes her head. "Amber is not looking for support. On the contrary, we are here to assist you in your fight against the dark things from the road. Forgive me for pointing it out, but your city defenses could use significant work. We would be wanting to start working on that if it suits Your Highness."

"However, I do need to find where my cousins have landed, and our usual form of communications do not seem to work in Greymoor. I do not know if that is normal for here, or if it is an effect of the Black Road. It may be that I can send a messenger to the domains of the Kings. But it may be that I will have to go myself."

"I see," he says, nodding, his two advisors whispering to him at the same time. Interrupting them, he continues, "We can help you contact other territories of Greymoor, other... leaders until you find your cousins, if you would help settle the defenses here." He bows his head.

"If I could offer a suggestion, I would propose that you establish your command here. From our scouting reports, we have found that we are the least affected by the assaults from the Black Road. We believe they are trying to control the Kingdom of Dagmar. It has been the most affected, although we have heard little from the other Kingdom of Greymoor, Almirior. Communication and intelligence have been difficult to establish because paranoia abounds, you see, although we are following the non-agression pact of outer duress."

"At the moment, it cannot hurt us to stay here and gain whatever information they may have... Even if they hold back on a few things, none of us are familiar with the lay of the lands so whatever we can get will be worth it. It seems obvious Lord Finn has not made his way here yet, so we could also await him here while we have them send out missives to the various lordships of Greymoor requesting additional information. At the very least, we could use hired local guides from here."

"Finn apparently made it to a King," Rebecca points out. "And Demon and I can find Finn. I may yet go lookin'. But for now, I agree; we should spend some time getting these people's defenses in order. It's a wonder they have held out this long."

She sits up and smiles across the table. "As I stated previously, we will see to your defenses here for now. I am going to need a map of Graymoor - one that includes the lay of the land. I am also going to need to send a message to Dagmar. I suspect that is where my kin have ended up."

She taps her nail against the chair arm. "I didn't see much in the way of timberland on our way in. How far away is the nearest timber source?"

Then she smiles. "But right now? We've been riding pretty hard. I'd like a room and a bath for my lord and I, as well as suitable quarters for my men and our horses as soon as this breaks up." She pauses and thoughtfully clicks her teeth together. "How are you all fixed for supplies?"

"There are forested hills a few miles north, but we usually trade any significant amount of timber from other Principalities," he admits. He nods and says, "Let's begin work when you and your men have rested. I'm certain your journey has been long."

The three men bow their heads low, and finally, the Seneschal offers to take them to their rooms and asks details about what arrangements must be made. They have room for her and the Royal Guard retinue, Ganelon and half a dozen of his men, but the rest of the Amberite's forces will need to be camped in one of the training courtyards.

[OOC: I will have a detailed map of Greymoor available as soon as it is finished (we have a three day weekend coming up so it shouldn't be a problem), let me know if there are other details Rebecca will want to find out about. Other than that, if you're ready, I'll start a new scene on the new forum started up this weekend.]

[that's all I can think of at the moment. Though I suppose we should make sure they have a nearby water source or a town well, and look at the food stores before we barricade ourselves in. Smile
