Finn does not open his box. He simply holds it in is hand. "Fay? Let us meet in the Courtyard, when you're ready to travel."

He lays a hand on Rebecca's shoulder, and nods. "The Courtyard, when you're ready." He smiles slightly, and turned to Arkadios.

"I've no objections, Kade. " Finn smirks, and exhales a bit of smoke after a drag on his cigarette, "It's not my Castle, after all." He starts for the door, and waves for Kade to join him as he goes.

"I will be there shortly, Finn," Faylinn answers as she slides the last few cards back into the box. She looks up at Eric, her head tipping just a tiny bit to one side, and then rises to offer a picture-perfect curtsey and a murmured, "Majesty."

Then she turns and heads for the door herself, the box in one hand.

Eric nods quickly, turns to those still assembled and says, smiling, "Please enjoy the food, I will be back in a bit."

He leads Rebecca outside of the Throne Room and closes the heavy door behind them.

Altair collects himself and makes a round of nods around the room. "I shall be seeing you all shortly, I am sure. Until then, attempt to stay alive. I have a feeling that numbers can only aide us later on."

He turns and makes great strides towards, and out, the door.

With perfect timing, King Eric walks in when Altair walks out. He smiles at Daniel and Preston and says, "Gentlemen, I knew that I could count on you for company!" Eric makes his way to the food and drinks and helps himself to more hors-d'oeuvre. "Now that our committee is reduced, I would be happy to answer any further questions we were not able to cover."

Daniel sits down for the first time, taking a sip of wine and collecting his thoughts. He glances about for a second before taking another drink of wine and meeting Eric's eyes again.

"Your Highness, I have just one more inquiry really in regards to our mission. This place, this Greymoor, is obviously of great importance to us, and I have no wish to fail to achieve our goals there. To that end, I wish to know just how far we are to go to achieve them."

He pauses, lifting his glass. "Should the diplomatic route fail, for whatever reason, I do not see a viable military alternative to achieve our ends there. Though I believe we can find a way to succeed by normal negotiation, if it proves needed, may I have your leave to attempt a more..." He runs his thumb across the rim of the glass. "...subtle means of persuasion, so to speak."

"In any case, what can you tell me of the governmental structure of this place. There is more than one seat of power in most governments, and I'd like to know the layout of more than the geography." He drains his glass, refilling it and offering to refill Eric's as he awaits his response.

Daniel took the opportunity to fill his stomach as Eric laid out the information for him. After washing it down with the wine, he asked, "What do we know of Melor himself? He must be an impressive man to have held the fort against the Black Road forces so well. What sort of man is he?"

Eric smiles and answers, "I truly hope that you can tell me when you meet him. Begmans stay away from Greymoor and their scouts are reluctant to infiltrate... Assess the situation and report to me. If things can't be worked out with the King, something else can be worked out."

Eric sits and stares at the maps for a little while then says, "There's this legend in Begma about Melor and his demon-like features. I imagine a lot of it the product of exaggeration... Or embellishment, depending on the point of view, of course."

"Well, now I can hardly wait to meet him." Daniel replied, smiling a little for the first time. "I believe that is all I need at this time. I will go get ready to depart, unless you have further need of me." He rises. "On an unrelated matter, have you seen my mother recently? I was on my way to find her when I was summoned."

Eric nods, "Be at the main courtyard at dawn to lead the troops down to the docks. Gerard will take it from there, since he'll escort you by sea all the way to Begma."

Eric replies, "I believe she has left a few hours ago. She said she had pressing business in Shadow..."
"Anything that I should concern myself with?" he asks, his tone casual.
