For a moment, April cogently replies to Flora's question, "Well, Ian ..." then she winces a little, then opens her eyes wide and blinks repeatedly. "Ooooh," she says, "I'll let Ian handle that question."
"I've got someone trying to contact me," she finishes, making a distracted little card-shuffling motion with her hands. She staggers to her feet. "I know this is totally rude," she says sheepishly, "but it could be vital, so, if you'll excuse me again." She shuffles a little way away from the circle, though still well within the trees. |

When April returns, Flora looks at her, obviously trying to guess who it may have been, probably guessing it may have been Eric.
"Any important news?", she asks.

Ian smiles genuinely at Sigmer'Lune. "We're both creatures of action, Captain. Tell me, how do you keep your people motivated. I'm not a leader, by any account. Most of the work I do for the Crown I do alone, if you get my meaning. It seems that leadership is a rare gift, and I wonder if one is born with it or grows into it? Maybe there's hope for me yet."
He chuckles and nods towards Flora and April.
"Are you married? If it isn't a personal question, and if it is, I apologize in advance." |

"For some time, need and survival instinct have been their motivation... I had little to do with that, I'm afraid, other than give them a chance to continue to follow me. The tribe itself has always been of a transient nature, but we have agreed that a home base, so to speak, would be essential to its survival."
Sigmer'Lune chuckles as well, then says, "I wish that I could give you advice on how to lead a team, but I was pretty much raised with leadership of this group in mind by my mentor. Being there for these people and making difficult decisions for the good of many can take its toll, but there is little room for moral dilemmas for those who make war. Making war on Lord Ashelt seemed like the right thing to do, but I realize that changing our ways may be necessary. I suppose being a good leader involves a bit of change on the leader's part, lest they become corrupt and think of the self rather than the many."

"Married? Uh, no... A legitimate question, I suppose. But no, I've had no time or interest to find a bride yet. My position in life is currently too precarious to secure a worthy wife..."

Ian chuckles. "I only got close to marriage once, and I guess even then it wasn't that close. Her name was Hayden. She was beautiful, wild, so much fun to be with, shared my tastes in music. When she left me I mourned for a year or two. I guess she wasn't ready to get married, she left so abruptly. Oh well. Maybe some day."
He looks over at Flora and April and the rest of the lunch party.
"I guess we shouldn't be anti-social."

Sigmer'Lune follows, looking somewhat satisfied. "Ladies, is the food to your liking?" He waits for Ian to sit down before he does.
Flora smiles at him and Ian and takes a bite out of some juicy vegetable, akin to a tomato.
