April does laugh at his expression. "Yeah. I sorta meant more broken, but it doesn't seem likely."

"It ..." April says, then looks away for a while. "It is good to see you, Ian," she says nervously.

He walks around in front of her and hugs her, mindful of her shoulder.

"April, you know I love you. I always have and I always will. Even when I want to throttle you, which I would lose." He squeezes her good shoulder. "You'd snap me in half."

He holds her close again, a bit overwhelmed for words.

April sniffles a little. "You're damn right I would," she says matter of factly. "So quit treating me like I'm made of spun glass, 'kay?"

He holds her at arms' length. "Let's go report to Eric."

He releases her and heads back towards the door.

April grits her teeth at Ian's "little sister" comment, and glares after him for a few long seconds as he heads toward the door. Then she sighs and follows, digging in her pockets to pull out a water-logged deck of Trumps.

"Hold this," she says, handing the lantern over to Ian. "Eric gave me a trump ... and I expect he'll be willing to answer me if he's answering anyone at all."

She stares at the trump, examining Eric's image, feeling for the still unfamiliar quickening cold. The ghost of a smile quirks her lips for a moment.

Ian opens the door and holds the Lantern, using its light to hang up the key. "Flora!"

"Over here, Ian," she calls out from the darkness to the opposite side of the cave's entrance. "I think I've found something." Her voice is getting fainter and comes from where the - now absent - wind originates.

"April, Flora found something else. Let's hold off on reporting for a few minutes."

He waits for April before heading to Flora, probably to April's surprise.

"Already... doing... it..." April says slowly, her concentration split. She shoos Ian a bit with her free hand. "You go ... Be with you ... in a minute."

He starts taking off his sword belt.

"Don't ... need ... a sword," she says with a frown. She taps the edge of the Trump a few times. "Is this thing on?"

He looks back, to see if he can see Flora or not.

The trump remains cold in her hands, but it does not yield a contact.

Flora cannot be seen or heard any longer.
