She hesitates only a moment. "Sure. You've used it more today then I have in months," Rebecca teases. It is just a thing, and she can always make a new one. She looks a little startled with how much he looks like her. That might not be the best of ideas for his own safety.

Rebecca squats back down and gestures for Wyatt to join them. "Alright, gentlemen; we need ta make a decision. We can keep headin' along tha path we are to meet up with my cousins. The down side of this is that we're goin' to be facin' some ugliness. Peter slept through the worse so far, but there ain't nothin' sayin' we're gonna have it any better ahead. One the one hand, it'll keep Peter with us, and we might come across where he's actaully from. But if we get inta somethin' we have ta fight our way out of, he could be a liability or get hurt. Unless he's been holdin' out on me and can shoot a gun."

"Our other choice is for us ta take my special way back to Amber -" she looks at Peter. "That's where I've been livin' this past coupla years. On the plus side, we can leave Peter with Maggie at the inn. There's other kids around and he can have my room there. Maggie will take care of him and he can help around around the place. I'd offer ta take ya to the castle, but you'd be bored silly. Besides, I trust Maggie and those folks more then I do everyone at the castle. When Wyatt and I get done with what we have ta do, we'll come back and get ya. If that's what you want."

Peter looks back and forth between Rebecca and Wyatt and looks worried, seemingly overwhelmed by a choice with great impact over his own life, as well as theirs. "I-I dunno.. Whatever you think is best. I don't want to be a burden... But I wouldn't mind staying with you two."

Pursing her lips thoughtfully, Rebecca turns to Wyatt. "Hon? We can trip over to Amber anyway and pick ya up an experienced horse from the castle stables. You'll need it anyway. We can trump Finn from there. That way Peter can meet Maggie and the boys there."

She turns to Peter. "I'll ask again after ya've meet 'em, ok? I don't mind havin' ya with us, but I don't want ya getting hurt again if I can help it. If ya end up comin', well, I reckon ya can be Demon's groom if ya think ya can handle it."

"Alright," Wyatt nods. "Whaddya say, Peter? My wife tells me they've got decent food there," he says jokingly, winking.

Peter seems unsure but nods to them. "Alright. Thanks- thank you..."

Wyatt gets up and offers Demon some water, then turns to Peter and asks, "Wanna feed him?" Peter's eyes light up. He gets up and holds the bag of feed Wyatt hands him. An unexpected tender moment.

Rebecca just smiles for a moment. Then she moves around to check Demon's saddle briefly before she sorts through her cards for the one to the city gates.

"You two mount up," she say as they finish their bonding time. "Let's see if this works."

When they do she focuses on the image; card in one hand, reins gathered in the other.

The image on the card changes quickly and she sees the lights of Amber by night. At the city gates, there is a group of a dozen of the King's soldiers in cloaks and lances, guarding it heavily. The gate is about one hundred yards away from where they would step through, plenty of time to be identified without startling the troops.

"Hang on," She warns the two riders. "This may feel weird."

Rebecca steps through with Demon beside her. She waits until the horse and his passengers are through and she has closed the gate before she pushes her hat off so she's easily seen and not in shadows. She looks up at Wyatt and gestures for him to do the same.

"Anybody asks," she says quietly. "Peter's your nephew."

Giving Peter a wink, she raises a hand in greeting the gate guard. "Evenin' fellas."

Wyatt and Peter nod, both steady in the saddle as if prepared for some sort of ride.

When they step through, they both blink several times, colors from the trump contact fading around the group.

When Rebecca issues her greeting, the guards stand to attention and half of them approach swiftly. The man in charge, whom Rebecca has seen around the castle leading royal guards before smiles and says, "Hello, Princess. Welcome back. Could we escort you to the castle? There is something happening out there," he says pointing behind her, where shadows seem to dwell and dance.

High in the sky, Tir-na Nog'th has appeared, the full moon casting strong light, basking all of Kolvir in an unearthly glow.

She turns and looks into the dark and shudders. She had meant to go straight to the Cock & Bull, but it might be better if they spent the night in the castle.

Rebecca smiles up at Wyatt and Peter and points to Tir. "Excellent timin' for a first visit."

Then she nods to the guard. "Unless ya think it's liable to be dangerous up the hill, I think we can manage. 'Course, look slike stuff has kicked up since I left. I'll trust yer judgment."

She pats Wyatt on the backside. "Scootch up, darlin' so I can mount up."

Peter and Wyatt were already wide-eyed, then she points out Tir-na Nog'th and their jaws drop. Peter mouthes a silent 'wow'.

The Guard says, "It would be best if a few of my men escorted you. Lord Caine will want a word with you, I'm sure..." With that, he raises his hand and the guards yell for the gate to be opened. More guards are posted on the other side, perhaps twenty of them.

Wyatt moves forward to leave Rebecca enough room to get on.

"Ready?" the guard asks.

She settles in behind Wyatt and wraps her arms around his middle just because she can. "Yep. Demon, take us to the castle."

Rebecca points out things of interest along the way. She takes a moment in between to question the guard. "Has anything come from those Shadows yet?"

"No, Princess. Not yet," the guard says. Peter and Wyatt stay quiet throughout most of the ride up, mostly excited by the nighttime sightseeing. The streets are very empty, quiet and rather cold for the time of year. The shadows are deep and intense by the strong moonlight.

They arrive into midtown and the street that leads to the 'Cock & Bull'. The guards continue forward.

Wyatt nods. He has taken is hat off and is letting Peter hold it in his lap.

"The King left late last night and put Lord Caine in charge. Lord Caine said that the King will return soon."

"I'm sure he will," Rebecca agrees. She turns to look back at where the shadows roiled and suppressed a shudder. Maybe it was a good thing they had decided to come back before getting on to Graymoor. They could all use a good night's sleep and a decent meal if nothing else.
